Ed launched Fleis Associates as a consulting and civil engineering firm in 1986 in Satellite Beach, Florida. Clayton Bennett began his engineering career in 1993 after graduation from the University of Central Florida. He rapidly became one of the top storm water engineers in the state gaining his expertise working for the USDA Soil Conservation Service and two major engineering/surveying firms in Orlando and Sarasota. Clayton joined Ed in 1998 as a Project Manager. Two years later they formed their working partnership and incorporated as Fleis & Bennett Engineering, Inc.

The firm brings a full range of services to its clients, including feasibility studies, site planning, design, regulatory/environmental permitting and construction management. But perhaps most important, is creativity, good taste and an ability to visualize the project from the site planning stages on.

Evidence of their ability to create beautiful, cost effective developments within environmentally sensitive areas include a wide array of projects on Melbourne Beach’s coastline in south Brevard County: Aquarina Beach and Country Club, St. Andrews Village, South Shores and Indian Landing.
